Season-phase training shifts your hockey programming by the part of the season you are in — off-season, pre-season, in-season, and playoffs — and adjusts your training load to your readiness. The app reads your own season schedule, derives your current phase, and moves the emphasis and volume of your sessions to match it.

The season-phase model

These are the actual rules the training engine applies. Each phase sets an emphasis and a change to your set volume; the intensity factor scales the working load. This describes what the engine does — not a promised result.

Near the edges of a phase the engine applies a modifier that overrides the base bias for that window.

How does the program change in-season versus off-season?
Off-season is the only phase that biases volume up, with a strength emphasis to build your base. In-season switches to maintenance — it holds your working intent but trims a set so games stay the priority.
What happens in the playoffs?
During the playoff window the engine protects game day: it lowers the working intensity, reduces set volume, and pauses progression so you stay fresh for competition rather than chasing new gains.
What if I don't know my season phase?
Then no seasonal bias is applied. If there is no schedule on file the phase is treated as unknown and your session is shown exactly as programmed — we would rather apply nothing than guess.
Is this based on my own schedule?
Yes. The engine derives your current phase from the season dates you provide — your season start, season end, and optional playoff start — so the phase reflects your own calendar, not a generic one.
