The sessions

Two sessions, every week.

ASession A

Strength Maintenance

The minimum effective dose of strength for a goalie in season: one hinge, one squat pattern owned through full range, honest pulling, and adductors trained twice before you leave.

  1. 01Hinge Strength
  2. 02Squat Pattern
  3. 03Press & Pull
  4. 04Groin Armour
BSession B

Lateral Quickness & Hip Maintenance

Short, sharp, and entirely about staying quick and staying available. Lateral output while fresh, a small dose of push-and-recover capacity, and hip control work to finish.

  1. 01Lateral Output
  2. 02Push-and-Recover Capacity
  3. 03Single-Leg Control
  4. 04Hip Control
Week by week

Four weeks, start to finish.

Each week runs sessions A to B. Open any one of them on its own.

  1. Week01

Load is moderate on purpose — in-season lifting exists to keep what you built, not to make you sore for Friday.

  2. Week02

One notch heavier. If the schedule has left the legs heavy, drop a set before you drop the weight.

  3. Week03

The heaviest week of the loop, and still nothing goes to failure. Bar speed is the governor all month.

  4. Week04

Back off, then start the block again at week 1. This loop repeats for as long as the season does.

Ready when you are

Start week one on the days you train.

Every session lands on your schedule, and any of them can be moved later.
