The sessions

Two sessions, every week.

ASession A

Hips, Legs & Groin

A goalie’s off-ice work starts at the hips. Full-range squatting, a hinge learned with a kettlebell, side-to-side strength in the butterfly’s range, and the groin trained twice before you leave.

  1. 01Squat Pattern
  2. 02Frontal Plane
  3. 03Hinge & Pull
  4. 04Hip Control
BSession B

Quick Feet & Reaction

Speed in the crease is a read plus a push. Hand-eye and footwork drills while the brain is fresh, lateral power in both directions, then balance and adductor work for a stance you can hold all game.

  1. 01Eyes & Feet
  2. 02Lateral Push
  3. 03Balance & Groin
  4. 04Push & Brace
Week by week

Six weeks, start to finish.

Each week runs sessions A to B. Open any one of them on its own.

  1. Week01

Week 1 is about learning the shapes. Every rep is practice, so make every one look the same.

  2. Week02

Same movements, a little more of them. Only add where the form held up last week.

  3. Week03

Some drills move up a level this week. Quality still beats quantity, every set.

  4. Week04

An easier week on purpose — growing bodies and a busy hockey schedule need one. Keep it short and crisp.

  5. Week05

The most work of the block, and still nothing is a max and nothing goes to failure.

  6. Week06

Show what you learned: measure your best broad jump, then start the block again at week 1. The same drills done better is real progress.

Ready when you are

Start week one on the days you train.

Every session lands on your schedule, and any of them can be moved later.
