The sessions

Two sessions, every week.

ASession A

Lower Body & Landing

Landing first, then the three lifts every skater carries into high school: the squat, the hinge and the split squat. Light implements, perfect reps, and the groin work that keeps a growing body out of the trainer’s room.

  1. 01Land & Jump
  2. 02Squat Pattern
  3. 03Hinge & Push
  4. 04Single-Leg & Groin
BSession B

Speed, Lateral & Upper Body

The skating plane and the shot. Lateral jumps and change-of-direction speed while fresh, rotational throws, then pulling strength and a hip circuit that trains the groin from both sides.

  1. 01Lateral Speed
  2. 02Throws
  3. 03Pull & Brace
  4. 04Hip Strength
Week by week

Six weeks, start to finish.

Each week runs sessions A to B. Open any one of them on its own.

  1. Week01

Week 1 is about learning the shapes. Every rep is practice, so make every one look the same.

  2. Week02

Same movements, a little more of them. Only add where the form held up last week.

  3. Week03

Some drills move up a level this week. Quality still beats quantity, every set.

  4. Week04

An easier week on purpose — growing bodies and a busy hockey schedule need one. Keep it short and crisp.

  5. Week05

The most work of the block, and still nothing is a max and nothing goes to failure.

  6. Week06

Show what you learned: measure your best broad jump, then start the block again at week 1. The same drills done better is real progress.

Ready when you are

Start week one on the days you train.

Every session lands on your schedule, and any of them can be moved later.
